The following statements are part of the provisions of Title 7, the 1964 Civil Rights Act which prohibits employment discrimination.

• Employers may not demand sexual favors as a condition of hiring
• Employers may not adjust salaries on the basis of race or sex
• Employees may not be grouped by race, sex or national origin.

However asking a person's gender on an application, is not part of the provisions. And not being given raises or promotions for good job performance is not part of the provisions.

Title 7 protects employees from harassment on the basis of race, color, gender, religion and national origin.
